The following is a comprehensive list of the various circumstances under which foreign nationals can enter China without having to apply for a new visa:
1.Mutual Agreements for Visa Exemption:
Foreign nationals who are subject to mutual visa exemption agreements between their home country and China are allowed to enter China without a visa. This means that if you hold a passport from a country that has signed a mutual visa exemption agreement with China, you do not need to apply for a visa before entering the country.
2.Permanent Residence Permit ID Card:
If you have a valid permanent resident permit ID card, you can enter China without the need to apply for a visa. However, this is only applicable to individuals who have been granted permanent residency in China.
3.Valid Resident Permits:
If you have a valid residence permit, you do not need to apply for a new visa to enter China. This is applicable to foreign nationals who are already residing in China and have a valid permit.
4.Travel cards issued by APEC:
People who possess an active APEC Business Travel Card are exempt from needing a visa to enter China. With the help of this strategy, business travel will be made easier between China and the other APEC economies. Holders of APEC Virtual Cards will also be permitted entrance beginning on May 1, 2023. Holders of APEC Virtual Cards who require a visa before May 1, 2023, will be assisted by the Embassy as part of a transitional arrangement. For more information, kindly get in touch with the Embassy's consular section.
5. Program for Transport Visa Exemption:
Under the Transit Visa Exemption Program, foreign nationals who are transiting through China on their way to a third country are allowed to enter China without a visa. However, there are certain restrictions and conditions that apply to this program, so it is important to check with the relevant authorities before making any travel arrangements.
6.Visa-Free Policies:
China has various visa-free policies that apply to foreign nationals from certain countries or regions. For example, the Hainan visa-free policy allows foreign nationals from 59 countries to enter Hainan Province without a visa for up to 30 days. The visa-free policy specified for foreign cruise-group-tour through Shanghai Port allows passengers on designated cruise ships to enter Shanghai without a visa for up to 15 days.
The Guangdong visa-free policy specified for foreign tour groups entering from Hong Kong SAR or Macao SAR allows tourists to visit Guangdong Province without a visa for up to 6 days. Finally, the visa-free policy specified for foreign tour groups of ASEAN countries entering Guilin, Guangxi Province allows tourists from ASEAN countries to visit Guilin without a visa for up to 6 days. For more details on these policies, please contact the immigration inspection authorities of the intended destination.
It is important to note that the requirements for entering China without a visa are subject to change, and it is always advisable to check with the relevant authorities before making any travel arrangements.
